Of course you can change the data displayed in your monitor.  Simply point your mouse to the heading of the desired column and click the right mouse button.  This will display a drop down menu.   Move the cursor to the item you want to see and click the left mouse button.   The heading will change to the selected item the data will fill in down the column.   If, after invoking the menu, you decide that you do not wish to make a change simply move the cursor to the heading, click the right mouse button, and the menu will disappear.

Why doesn't the ticker show every trade?

The ticker only displays trades that are 1000 shares or more.  It also only shows trades on those symbols that are currently in your monitor.

Why do some stocks show bid & ask and not others?

The Nasdaq stock exchange is the only exchange that allows vendors to display delayed bid and ask.  The other major exchanges, such the NYSE and AMEX, do not allow us to display bid and ask even on a delayed basis.

How do I remove a position from the portfolio?

In order to remove a position from the portfolio screen in release 1.6.18 you must first zero out the position. For example if you bought 500 shares of IBM you must first sell 500 shares so that the quantity on the position is zero.  Once the quantity is zero point the cursor at the symbol and click the left mouse button.  You be presented with a box with the symbol name, a remove button, and cancel button.  Click the remove button to delete the position.  The next release of myTrack will allow you to delete a position without first zeroing it out.

Why doesn't your volume and closing price agree with my newspaper?

The volume and prices we display throughout the trading reflect only the activity on that securities primary exchange.  Many securities trade on more than one exchange, for instance the primary exchange for General Electric in the New York Stock Exchange, but it also trades on regional exchanges like Philadelphia and Boston.  The newspapers usually display what is called the composite data.  The composite data shows the total volume for all exchanges and the last price the stock traded on any of the exchanges that it trades on.

How do I use chat?

The chat window is divided into two sections.  The blue area on top is the PUBLIC section and the white area below is the PRIVATE section.  The bottom row of the chat window has two areas.  The little box on the left is the "command box" and the larger area to the right of that is the "input box".

When you first bring up the chat window the word "say" appears in the command box.  Say is the command to send a message to the public chat area.  Type a message in the input box, hit enter and your message will appear in the public chat area.

If you click the arrow in the command box a menu will drop down with a blank line, the word "say", and the word "tell".  Tell is the command to send a message to the private chat area.  Since private chat is private you will need to select someone to send a message to.  With the word tell in the command box type the username of your message recipient in the input box followed by a message.  This message will appear only in the private chat box of the recipient.

If you select the blank line from the command box menu and type the word "help" in the input box a menu of commands will appear in the private chat area or you can /help when "say" is in the command box.   To find out more about any of these commands type; (/)help <command> in the input box.

How do I use chat channels?

Chat channels can be thought of as "rooms" where groups of people can "go" to discuss specific topics. For example, channel 1 is the help channel.  You go to channel 1 for assistance in using myTrack.

The channel dialogue appears in the private area (white section) of the chat window.  In order to view and participate in a channel dialogue enter the command "/channel X on" (without the quotes) in the chat input box.  So, for example, to turn on channel 1 you would type, /channel 1 on.  You will then see the message, "channel: channel # 1 is now on".  To turn a channel off type, /channel X off.  There are currently 20 channels and you can have as many turned on as you want.

To send a message to a specific channel you must first have the word "tell" in the command box or you can type /tell if the word "say" is in the command box.  You then enter the channel number followed by your message.  So, for example, to send a message to channel 1 type, 1 HELP ME PLEASE.  Your message will appear in the public area with a (1) in front of your user ID followed by the message, e.g. "(1) userID: HELP ME PLEASE".  Any response to you in that channel will be preceded by the channel number in parenthesis.

In order to see which channels you currently have active simply type the command "/channel".

The command "/sysinfo" will show you the categories that are assigned to specific channels.

How do I use chat to enable new features?

The chat "feature" command allows you to enable and disable myTrack premium features such as Nasdaq Level II, Dynamic Option Display, etc.

To use the feature command go to the chat window and type /feature in the input line.  You will see a table scroll out in the white area of the chat screen.  This table shows all the available premium features, the monthly cost and your status, i.e. enabled or not enabled.

To enable yourself for a feature type, /feature <name> enable.  So for example to enable yourself for historical news you would type, /feature news enable.   Type /feature again to see that news is now enabled.  In order for the change to take affect you must restart myTrack

To disable a feature you would type the word "disable" instead of "enable".  Keep in mind once you've enabled a feature you will be billed for that feature for the entire month.
